Zara Menswear S/S14 Campaign Lookbook.
Here’s the big one, the highstreet
lookbook I’ve been looking forward to for months. There is no hiding the
fact I am more than a little bit addicted to Zara, I just can’t help
myself. For me Zara offer the best menswear selection on the highstreet
without a doubt, for me the brand puts just as much effort into their
menswear as they do their ladieswear. I think this really sets them
apart from the competitors who put little or no effort into the fashion
side of menswear, instead deciding to focus on traditional collections
that are the same year after year.
As far as styling goes the lookbook has three key trends – tailoring, minimalism and an underlying futuristic influence.
Tailoring.
If there is something Zara could win awards for it would be their tailoring, no one on the high street can match the brand’s attention to detail and emphasis on fashion & practicality. As usual this lookbook is rammed full of traditional suiting given that it must be a clear money spinner for Zara, however it’s the tailoring influences elsewhere in the collection that caught my eye. From the structured dress shorts to the pleated trousers S/S14 is a very sophisticated affair.

Minimalism.
Something about this lookbooks feels very COS-esque, the colour palette is very neutral with a bare minimum of prints & patterns. Definitely a reserved S/S lookbook for Zara. There seems to be a huge focus on the shape and cut of the pieces as opposed to the colour or pattern, something that is reflected in the calm and relaxing shoot.

Futuristic Influences.
Building on the minimalistic styling and clean cut silhouettes the collection features some pretty futuristic looking pieces, it feels like the costumes you would see in a 90′s sci-fi movie which sounds wrong but it works so well. The metallic bomber jackets are definitely the most eye catching pieces in the lookbook and help to carry the futuristic theme throughout.

H&M Man A/W13 Menswear Lookbook Update
Following on from their relaxed ‘Stylish
Comfort’ A/W13 lookbook update H&M have also released a more dressed
up lookbook that shows what the high street giant have lined up from
their more traditionally styled collection as we head into the party
season. With an upcoming feature in GQ H&M are really putting a big
emphasis on their A/W menswear offering, with a key focus on value for
money there is some amazing knitwear available from £14.99 and shirts
from £9.99 so you can’t go wrong. H&M’s trademark democratic fashion
is spiced up a bit by some key pieces like the longline biker jacket,
printed wool blend knitwear and distressed denim which really help to
reflect the upcoming seasonal trends. The lookbook also includes some
accessories from the premium materials collection with leather brogues
and derby shoes starting from £34.99, once again highlighting H&M’s
aim to offer fashion and quality at the best possible price.
The collection is available in store and online now.
David Beckham For H&M 2014 Bodywear Campaign
Rumour has it that David Beckham’s bodywear collaboration with H&M
will be coming to an end soon, his 3 year deal runs until Autumn this
year and apparently it’s not going to be renewed. The collaboration has
been a huge success with huge $4 million superbowl commercials being
used in recent years, the latest advert shows a scantily clad Beckham
running over rooftops in East London. With the future of the partnership
in doubt it’s only fair that we take some time to appreciate the latest
campaign, with Beckham looking at his very best.
